Make Poverty History
The first ever Global Student Forum conference took place in London, England in July 2005. So many schools sought tickets that the event had to be repeated on a second day.

The title of GSF that year was MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY and the event was run in partnership with that campaign. For more details download this copy of the conference advertising brochure.
Through the day the students explored three themes:
- Aid: What is the role and value of aid?
- Trade: What is the impact of international trade rules?
- Debt: What could be done about the indebtedness of poor countries?
After the conference the students returned to their schools inspired and equipped to be peer educators - running lessons and assemblies, as well as broadcasting their message through various media. To see the impact of this activity on them and those around them download this brief report.
Comments that we received after the event included:
The whole project has been a great success - Diane Heywood, Redland High School
The best organised conference I have ever been to - Georgina Pearson, Queen Elizabeth's School
Talking live on the radio was absolutely exhilarating - Jessica Smith, Devonport High School
