The Education Cannot Wait Youth Constituency, established as the first democratic youth constituency in the humanitarian sector, called on all humanitarian funds and networks to create youth constituencies on International Youth Day 2022.
Following our colleagues from the All-Africa Students’ Union (AASU), the European Students’ Union (ESU), the Organising Bureau of European School Student Student Unions (OBESSU), the Commonwealth Students Association (CSA), and La Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes (OCLAE), the GSF endorses the movement and lends its support to all parties committed to reforming humanitarian governance structures at the international level.
The Global Student Forum was founded in June of 2020 by the All-Africa Student Union (AASU), the European Students’ Union (ESU), the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU), the Commonwealth Students Association (CSA) and La Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes (OCLAE) as the formal unification of the world’s largest student federations. Bringing together 203 member unions from 122 countries, the GSF democratically represents the interests of more than 200 million secondary and tertiary students worldwide.
La Organización Continental Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Estudiantes (OCLAE) is the umbrella organization of the Latin American and Caribbean student movement. Since its creation in 1966, OCLAE has stretched to 38 national student unions from 24 countries, representing more than 100 million students.
